The Bandatso region is located in the northwestern Tibetan Plateau and has outcrops of Late Mesozoic magmatic rocks. These rocks are sodic mafic volcanic rocks and formed in late Jurassic (148 Ma) and late Cretaceous (140 Ma), which are reported firstly in Qiangtang, central of Tibet. These element and Sr-Nd analyses would provide key and important information about nature of the pre-collisional lithosphere and lithospheric evolution during Indian and Asian continental collision.
