The primary objective of this study was to obtain draft genome assemblies from S. dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis isolates that cause invasive infection and compare their genomes with that of a SDSE strain obtained from the upper respiratory tract from an asymptomatic subject. Trainee students generated the data and conducted comparative genomic analysis as part of a project-based integrated curriculum development initiative at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
