Lake Lexiewudan, located in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and west of Hoh Xil, Qinghai Province, is a plateau inland saline lake. Its Tibetan name is Xiangqin Cuona, meaning "Northern Black River". Its geographical coordinates range from 35°41′6″N to 35°49′30″N and 90°0′38″E to 90°21′13″E. The lake lies in a Cenozoic intermontane basement fault basin, bordering the Kunlun Mountains to the north and the Hoh Xil Mountains to the south, with an east-west elongated shape. The catchment area of the lake basin is 268.33 km², and the total shoreline length is 127.48 km. There are three small islands within the lake, with areas of 58414 m², 23908 m² and 3369 m² respectively; their corresponding shoreline lengths are 1751 m, 676 m and 233 m respectively. The lake basin is situated in a semi-arid climate zone, with an annual average temperature of -4 to 3℃ and an annual average precipitation of 150 mm. The lake is mainly recharged by seasonal surface runoff, glacial meltwater and spring water. Among them, the Dongquan River originating from the Malan Snow Mountain is the largest surface runoff feeding the lake basin, while the Baisha River originating from the northern slope of the Donggangzhari Glacier ranks second. The vegetation around the lake shore is dominated by Carex and Stipa purpurea steppe. This dataset was developed based on Google Earth remote sensing satellite images (2015) and related maps. It is stored in .kmz and .shp formats, consisting of 22 data files, with a total data volume of 2.07 MB (compressed into 2 files with a size of 743 KB).
