Biodegradable nanoparticles play an important role as drug nanocarriers and are a promising technology. Here we investigate the application of biopolymers nano-drug delivery system in the pig's gut microbiome. The slurry of the pig's small intestine was extracted and cultured in an anaerobic chamber with nutritive media. The slurry was treated with biocompatible concentrations of enrofloxacin drug loaded in Lignin grafted PLGA and PLGA nanoparticles. The effects of treatments with no treatment (control), empty nanoparticles, free drug, and drug-loaded nanoparticles were observed sequencing the microbial 16s rRNA region from extracted RNA and converted to cDNA for each condition at 24, 48, and 72h post-treatment.
