"Tapered Roller Bearings Dataset"

"A special-purpose dataset is a prerequisite for developing robust and accurate computer vision systems for industrial automation, especially in tasks such as object recognition, sorting, and assembly verification. This paper presents a newly curated dataset for the classification of industrial bearing rings. The dataset comprises a large collection of high-resolution, grayscale images of bearing rings captured under controlled laboratory conditions, with uniform lighting and a consistent, dark textured background with guiding rails. The dataset is structured around three primary classes: Single Ring, Double Ring, and Interactive Bearing Rings. The Single Ring class features isolated individual bearing rings (as seen in image_1.png). The Double Ring class depicts nested pairs of rings (exemplified by image_2.png). The Interactive Bearing Ring class captures complex scenarios where two or more rings are overlapping, touching, or interacting, representing challenges common in automated robotic picking and assembly (illustrated in image_0.png). All images are meticulously annotated with class labels and bounding boxes. This dataset serves as a benchmark for developing and evaluating machine learning algorithms, with potential applications in smart manufacturing quality control and automated robotic handling. The dataset is made publicly available to the research community."
