Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is a common practice worldwide. Petrophysics often requires an analysis of bulk reservoir samples including mineral structure, grain size and grain distribution. The advantages of visualization techniques are that they are non-destructive and give an insight into the rock which would be otherwise impossible. In addition, they allow for the detection of features in the micrometre range and produce data in a digitized form for automatic post processing. The main challenge in these processes is understanding the interaction between the immiscible liquid and the substrate at the pore scale. The objective of this study is to quantitatively characterize the pore-scale morphology, comprised chemical immiscible liquid, in natural porous media.
