资源简介:
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a substance considered an environmental toxin widely used in the production of polycarbonate plastics. Recent data indicate a correlation between BPA tissue contamination and the occurrence of severe conditions, including cancer. BPA is mostly metabolized in the liver and it has been suggested that this process may exert hepatotoxic effects and disrupt the normal functioning of this organ. The present experiment was carried out on 10 (3-month-old) female mice. Five mice served as controls. The other 5 mice were treated with BPA in the drinking water at a dose of 50 mg/kg b.w. for 3 months. After 3 months, the animals were sacrificed by decapitation. Immediately after death, the livers were removed under sterile conditions, protected, placed in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80°C until analysis was performed. Within both the experimental and control groups total RNA was isolated and high-throughput RNA sequencing was used to analyze the global changes in the transcriptome of the BPA-treated livers.
