Surface retreat rate from gullies at an eroding blanket bog at Glensaugh, Aberdeenshire, UK

Surface retreat rate (erosion rate) or peat from seven erosion gullies within an eroding blanket bog. The bog is on a hilltop blanket bog in within Glensaugh Climate Positive Farming Initiative, Scotland, UK 56°55′12″N , 002°33′54″W, 420 m asl). Within each erosion gully, 7 1m steel pins (threaded rod) were inserted into the peat until they reached bed rock or were almost competely submerged (but still visible). The pins were oriented in a rectangle with 0.5m between each pin. Approximately every 2-4 months the distance between the top of each pin and the top of the peat was measured (measuring to the lowest point at which peat surface intersects with the pin).
