Wild (Xishuangyesheng) and cultivated (Misi) Ziziphus mauritiana Genome sequencing and assembly

Haplotype-resolved and gap-free genome assemblies of autotetraploid wild and cultivated Ziziphus mauritiana shed light on the genetic basis of important domestication traits. The evolution history of cultivated and wild tetraploid Z. mauritiana genomes was depicted. The centromere features of Z. mauritiana genome were dissected. Based on transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses of mature fruits, the genetic basis underlying fruit astringency loss was clarified.
