Dataset of Comparative Levels of Environmental Aspergillus and Airborne Particles in Hospital Unprotected Air

This dataset contains data collected in a real hospital environment, specifically in standard patient rooms and corridors that were not equipped with high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration systems. Environmental air monitoring is not routinely performed in these settings, except in the context of research activities or outbreak investigations. Several environmental parameters were measured, including carbon dioxide (CO₂), particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), temperature, and relative humidity. Environmental conditions were also recorded, including the status of windows and doors (open or closed), season, and room occupancy. In addition, a microbiological assessment was performed by quantifying fungal counts, with particular attention to Aspergillus species. Air quality plays a critical role in hospital settings, as elevated airborne fungal concentrations may represent a significant risk for vulnerable patients.
