资源简介:
New paleomagnetic data from Cambrian limestones in the Montes de Teledo region of the Central Iberian Zone (Spain). The goal of this work is to check whether magnetic components coeval with late Variscan folding preserve evidence of vertical axis rotations related to the formation of the Iberian oroclines. Our data represent a contribution to the Variscan kinematics in central Iberia, including oroclinal evolution and the relationships between the two Iberian arcs: Central Iberian Arc (CIA) and Ibero Armorican Arc (IAA). After thermal demagnetization, some paleomagnetic components are observed. The most ubiquitous of them (calculated in 295 of the 415 thermally demagnetized samples) shows unblocking temperatures between 300 and 350 ºC . We consider it as the characteristic component (ChRM) and it is used for our tectonic interpretation. Our study has found a remagnetization characterized by N to NW paleodeclination, normal polarity and low negative inclination, pointing to a pre-Kiaman age. This remagnetization may reflect acquisition during a 42º clockwise rotation about a vertical axis. Assuming that it is pre-Kiaman, it should not be linked to the IAA, so that the rotation may reflect that of the southern limb of the CIA.
