资源简介:
This record will soon be published.Niumi and Jokadu The people of Jokadu went to Marabout Biram Kumba Malado seeking protection against the people of Niumi. The people of Niumi also sought similar action, but they were deceived by him when he falsely presented an object and claimed this would minimize the casualties of war. When the war finally erupted the people of Niumi mistakenly shot their fellow men and they fell into the river then they decided to move inland to attack Jokadu. During this period Kelefa Sanneh came to support Niumi and Ngansuma Jaaje also arrived at that time and joined Niumi. Ngansumana became very powerful and was issued some authority by Mansa Demba the Niumi ruler. Ngansumana abused his powers and was attacked by Mansa Demba and he fled. After days of intense fighting, Antony Marama arrived from Illiasa and settled the dispute between both kingdoms. After the war ended, Mansa Demba assigned Kakari Sonko to settle at Sika in Niumi Hakalang. Kakari was not a ruler, but his descendants were appointed as chiefs there, including Kebba Sonko, Kebba Umaru Sonko, and Umara Sonko. Umaru Sonko served as chief for seventeen years. Lang Fatou Sonko was also a chief and served as a Member of Parliament. Mansa Madi the ruler at Kanuma Niumi Banta referred to himself as ‘hot pepper’. Which meant he was untouchable. When Mansa Madi died, the throne was moved to Essau and Mansa Maranta Sonko became the ruler. Prior to his succession on the throne, he was the Imam of Bintang. He got married to Mansa Rumi the ruler of Foni daughter. Their children were, Mamadi Sonko, Famara Sira Sonko, and Lang Sally Sonko, who became the chief. References to entities made in the recording Culture: Mandinka Language: Mandinka Persons: Biram Kumba Malado, Kelefa Sanneh, Ngansuma Jaaje, Mansa Demba, Antony Marama, Kakari Sonko, Kebba Sonko, Kebba Umaru Sonko and Umara Sonko. Umaru Sonko, Lang Fatou Sonko, Mansa Madi, Mansa Maranta Sonko, Mamadi Sonko, Famara Sira Sonko and Lang Sally Sonko Relationships: Biram Kumba Malado was a great marabout whom Jokodou and Niumi sought spiritual advice.
