Draft genome sequence of Streptococcus dysgalactiae isolated from fish

Lancefield group C Streptococcus dysgalactiae has been isolated from farmed genus Seriola, such as great amberjack (Seriola dumerili), yellowtail (S. quinqueradiata), and kingfish (S. lalandi), in Japan. S. dysgalactiae infection in diseased fish is characterized by pericarditis and severe necrotic lesions in the caudal peduncle. Although the genomes of several mammalian S. dysgalactiae isolates have been analyzed and are available in GenBank, the only one genome sequence of a S. dysgalactiae fish isolate has been reported. To enrich the genome information about S. dysgalactiae isolated from fish, we determined draft genome sequence of S. dysgalactiae isolated from farmed genus Seriola.
