ER-2 Navigation (NAV) Observations TC4

The ER-2 Navigation Data TC4 files contain information recorded by on-board navigation and data collection systems. In addition to typical navigation data (e.g. date, time, lat/lon and altitude) it contains outside meteorological parameters such as wind speed, wind direction, and temperature. These data were collected during the Tropical Composition, Cloud, and Climate Coupling (TC4) field campaign. This field campaign took place in the tropical Eastern Pacific and Caribbean Sea with the primary goal to better understand the role that the tropical tropopause layer (TTL) plays in Earth’s climate and atmospheric chemistry. These navigation data files are available in ICARTT-ASCII text file format with browse imagery in PDF format. Each ICARTT-ASCII file contains data recorded at one second intervals for each flight while the PDFs have 5-second averaged data and the flight track. These data were collected between July 7, 2007 through August 9, 2007.
