Cadmium (Cd) accumulation in maize grain is a serious threat to human health. Mo17 is a maize inbred line with higher cadmium content in grainswhile B73 and Jing724 are two inbred lines with lower cadmium content. To map and clone the kernel cadmium content-related genes, two F2 populations(B73 x Mo17 and Jing724 x Mo17) were generated. BSR-seq was performed to map the main kernel cadmium content-related gene with the RNAs of twoextreme plant pools (low cadmium content pool and high cadmium content pool) from F2 populations.
