BenchFaaS is an open-source edge computing network testbed developed by the Institute of Computer and Network Engineering, Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany. It aims to automate the deployment and benchmarking of serverless functions, taking into account virtual machines, Raspberry Pi clusters, as well as diverse hardware and network conditions. BenchFaaS supports running on heterogeneous edge computing resources, and allows configuring the underlying network system to simulate wide-area network characteristics such as network latency, variation and packet loss. This dataset is intended for serverless function performance benchmarking, and aims to address the challenges brought by system heterogeneity and performance variability in edge computing environments.
