Single cell transcriptome analyses of Monodelphis domestica splenic and peripheral blood T cells

This study focuses whole single cell transcriptome analyses of T cells harvested from spleen and blood of the laboratory opossum, Monodelphis domestica. Single, unselected mononuclear cells were sorted into 96 well plates, RNA harvested and sequenced. Annotation of cell type was performed by identifying those cells containing functionally rearranged T cell receptor transcripts. This study provides insight into the function of a novel T cell subset unique to marsupial and monotreme mammals.
