Full cultured leaf and root endophyte community from Spartina alterniflora in a nitrogen fertilization experiment in the Plum Island Ecosystems LTER, MA

Fungal endophytes were cultured from root and leaf tissues of Spartina alterniflora collected at the Plum Island Ecosystems Long Term Ecological Research (PIE LTER) site. Samples were obtained from a field nitrogen addition experiment with treatments consisting of high, medium, and low additions of ammonium or nitrate, as well as ambient controls. Isolates were sequenced and taxonomic identities were assigned using the NCBI Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST). All fungal sequences have been deposited in GenBank.
