In this study, we attempted to demonstrate that Akermanite biocreamics (Akt) containing Mg ion could promote osteogenesis and angiogenesis effects of O-BMSCs via the exosomal-miR-196a-5p/HOXA7/MAPK signaling, and the increased bone regeneration effect was confirmed in cranial defects of aged rats, which could be considered a candidate strategy for bone repair in aged individuals. During this process, Akt-mediated exosomal miRNA-seq was performed to screen the regulated miRNA to clarify the potential mechanism.
