Gay Community Periodic Survey: Sydney February 2008

The Sydney Gay Community Periodic Survey data results from a cross-sectional survey of gay and homosexually active men recruited through a range of gay community sites in Sydney. Data were collected on types of sexual relationships and number of partners, anal and oral intercourse, unprotected anal intercourse, testing for HIV and other STIs, HIV serostatus, recreational drug use, and demographic characteristics such as sexual identity and age. Sample Population: 2,222 gay and homosexually-active men from Sydney. Method of Data Collection: Self-completion. Kind of Data: Survey. Sampling Procedures: Men were recruited through twenty sites: the Mardi Gras Fair Day, social venues, gay sex-on-premises venues and sexual health clinics.
