Liftr® Cloud Components Tracker℠

The Sundial | Liftr® Cloud Components Tracker℠ data identifies, catalogs, and compares public cloud service provider (CSP) compute instance types, prices, components and configurations. The basis for this data series is a monthly enumeration of Infrastructure-as-a-Services (IaaS) and bare metal types deployed by tracked CSPs, region by region around the world. The data contains over 2 million records spanning 46 months, with each row identifying a unique type configuration for a single CSP in a region. With 5 years of trends and comparable history, this data tracks the overall growth of public cloud, but with depth into the vendors, brands, models, CSP Prices, and global regions covering CPUs and accelerators of all types. This data set provides census-level tracking for the top 6 cloud providers representing over 75% of the public cloud market.

Fields:

- PIT Year: Point-in-time year in which row was collected
- PIT Month: Point-in-time month in which row was collected (a - 15th of the month, b - last day of the month; i.e., 11b is November 30th)
- PIT Quarter: Point-in-time calendar quarter in which the row was collected
- Month Part: Month part the row was collected (a - 15th of the month, b - last day of the month)
- CSP: Tracked public cloud service provider (CSP)
- CSP Ticker: Stock ticker of the CSP parent company
- Zone Count Sum: Count of CSP zones in a clustered region in which a CSP type and size is available (0-999)
- Physical Category: Top-level categorizations of CSP type (Dedicated Accelerator, Disaggregated Accelerator, Processor-Only)
- CPU Vendor: Data center processor chip vendor. For data center processors designed in-house by a CSP, this field lists the designing company
- CPU Ticker: Stock ticker of the CPU vendor (N/A: Disaggregated Accelerator Physical Category)
- CPU ISA: Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) used in a CPU (N/A: Disaggregated Accelerator Physical Category)
- Accel Type: Label indicating presence and type of a data center accelerator in a CSP type (CNA, FPGA, GPU, MORE, Transcoder). N/A -- Disaggregated Accelerator Physical Category)
- Accel Vendor: Data center accelerator chip vendor (N/A: Processor-Only Physical Category)
- Accel Ticker: Stock ticker of accel vendor (N/A: Processor-Only Physical Category)
