2021FEBEREC-STD-056X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) data obtained from the growth of cobalt hydroxychloride (Co2(OH)3Cl) nanopowders over time in the presence of 70% propanol and water, respectively are provided. Furthermore, data obtained from the XRD, TEM and attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transformed infrared (ATR-FTIR) analyses of Co2(OH)3Cl nanopowders synthesised via hydrothermal precipitation at varying propanol concentrations ranging from 0% to 100% are available. Data obtained from the Ultraviolet–visible–near–infrared (UV–VIS–NIR) spectroscopy, viscosity and thermal conductivity analyses of Co2(OH)3Cl-H2O nanofluids prepared via a two-step method are also provided. The prepared nanofluids were examined for thermal conductivity and viscosity, at temperatures ranging between 298 K and 318 K and 298 K to 308 K, respectively.
