High-Frequency Wind Velocity Data from a Meteorological Tower during Prescribed Gorse Burns at Rakaia, New Zealand

This dataset contains 20 Hz wind velocity measurements collected from a meteorological tower instrumented with sonic anemometers at 3 m, 15 m, and 30 m heights during three prescribed burns of gorse fuel. The data were collected in Rakaia, New Zealand, on 01 March 2020 and 06 March 2020 to study fire-atmosphere interactions and turbulent wind flow. This data supports the PhD research paper "Fire-Atmosphere Coupling Starts Upwind: Selective Redistribution of Turbulence at the Fire-Induced Rear Inflow".
