We aimed to the determine transcriptional profile of Candida albicans grown in minimal medium (yeast nitrogen based, 0.1% dextrose, and 0.02% Trophamine) supplemented with 10% intravenous fat emulsion (IFE). Groups included soy based IFE (SO-IFE, Intralipid), mixed oil IFE (MO-IFE, Smoflipid), SO-IFE supplemented with 55 mM capric acid, or minimal medium alone. Samples were grown with shaking at 37C for 4 h prior to RNA extraction by the hot acid-phenol method.
