VPRS 1969 Reports of Charges Heard by Magistrate

This volume is a Report Book and not a Cause List Book. Entries in the book were not allocated numbers (as cases were in Cause List Books). Also, there is no mention made of the person bringing the case to court, the prosecutor or complainant.Information includes: date and hour of apprehension, name of prisoner, age, occupation, counry (of birth), religion, education, offence, previous convictions, money & property found on prisoner, signature of watchhouse keeper, signature of apprehending constable, how disposed of (bailed, remanded, discharged, etc.), signature of adjudicating magistrate.Although the words 'Watchhouse Carge Book' appear on the spine of the volume, the word 'Watchhouse' has been struck out of the heading on each page in the volume.
