Caecal microbiota before and after multiple Western diet exposition

Obesity and overweight are major public health issue, the main cause being energy homeostasis dyrsregulation. Multiple exposures to palatable diets, such as high-sucrose high-fat diets (Western diet) facilitates this dysregulation. Energy homeostasis can be influenced by gut microbiota activity, either directly through bacterial metabolites or undirectly through intestinal response to microbial signals. We hypothesize that multiple exposure to WD induces gut microbiota modifications that are not always time-resilient and can modify host response to palatable diets. The results of this study could help understand the impact of gut microbiota on host energy homeostasis regulation.
