Saccharina japonica, one of the most common Laminariales alga along the northwest coasts of the Pacific Ocean, is the most economically important seaweed in the sea farming cultivation industry. Based on artificial seedling-rearing techniques, S. japonica sea farming has evolved rapidly to make this the most common seaweed in the world, with most of this seaweed being used as food and raw industrial material.
