The aerosol particle absorption coefficient at 370, 470, 520, 590, 660, 880, and 950 nm was measured at the surface level by a dual spot aethalometer (AE33, Magee Sci) within the PEGASUS mobile platform located in Rambouillet, France – ACROSS project. The instrument was operated at 2 l min–1 through a certified PM1 inlet (Leckel GmbH) located approximately 2 m above ground level. Data were acquired continuously at 1-min time resolution. The time indicated in the datafile is the start time of the 1-min interval. Data, reported as eBC (equivalent Black Carbon, ng m-3) were converted into volume absorption coefficients by multiplying by the instrumental MAC (Mass Absorption Coefficient, m2 g-1) as reported by the manufacturer. The data were further corrected to take into account the harmonization factor H*= 1.76 by following ACTRIS guidelines (https://www.actris-ecac.eu/measurement-guidelines.html). Data are reported to Standard Temperature and Pressure (e.g. ABS_520nm_STP) conditions (STP, T=273.15 K and P=1013.25 mbar). The uncertainty given in the data file (39%) accounts for instrumental (noise, 10% from Cuesta-Mosquera et al., 2021) and multiple scattering correction (variability from literature survey). Raw data were controlled manually to check periods when specific conditions prevented to do measurements or affected the quality of the measurements (power cut, disfunctioning). Data in correspondence of these periods are identified as -9999.999 and flagged with a M (missing). Valid data are reported with a O flag (operation). Detailed information on the dataset can be provided upon request to the author and the principal investigator.
