X-ray spectra and variability of X-ray sources in the Chandra LHNW FIeld

We propose a moderately deep (120ks each for two positions) XMM observation ofthe existing Chandra Large Area Synoptic Xray Survey of the LockmanHoleNorthwest field. This field represent the largest fully analyzed largesolid angle, sensitive Chandra survey. In the uniform 36.x36. Chandra solidangle we have obtained optical spectra and redshifts of over 250 of the 525sources as well as very deep (27 mag) optical multiband images. Of thesesources 127 of them are brighter than 1e14 c.g.s where good quality XMM Xrayspectra are possible in moderate exposure times.
