Reference delineations of the human Corpus geniculatum mediale (CGM, MGB, MGBv, MGBd, MGBm, metathalamus) in individual sections of the BigBrain

This dataset contains cytoarchitectonic maps of the three distinct subdivisions (MGBv, MGBd and MGBm) of the human Corpus geniculatum mediale (CGM, MGB, metathalamus, from here on called MGB) in the BigBrain. Delineations of the maps were created based on cytoarchitectonic analysis of the subdivisions in coronal histological sections at 1-micron resolution that correspond to the BigBrain dataset. Mappings of the subdivisions of the MGB are available on 57 sections and have been transformed to the 3D reconstructed BigBrain space. In addition, a highly detailed 3D map of the three subdivisions has been computed based on delineations on every histological section using a novel Deep Learning approach.
