Dendrolimus punctatus is the most widely distributed destructive pests of conifer forests, making it the most important pine defoliator. We provided the first high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly for D. punctatus, which help us to further understanding the characters of outbreak and pine needle feeding species at the genome level, and providing resource for comparing and evolutional analysis.
