Comparison of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) and neural stem cells (NSCs) derived from hPSCs

We obtained NSCs from hPSCs using a more facile one-step approach with CHIR-99021 and LIF supplement. These NSCs were subcultured in vitro for more than 40 passages and expressed neural progenitor markers Nestin, Pax6, Sox2, Sox1 as well as rostral cervical spinal markers HOXA1-4, HOXB1-4 and HOXC4 but not brain markers FOXG1 and OTX2, and with AP positive staining.
