THH explains how the quality of a loincloth's dyeing depends on the amount that customers can give: the more they can give, the darker the dye will be (the intensity of the dyeing depends on the number of immersions in the dye and therefore on the working time; see also 2019LG08-O05-0402 and 2019LG08-O05-0403). He then talks about the process of washing dirty loincloths in the used dye (dokoro), and the categories of products that were dyed in bulk in his parents' day. Today, he is mainly called upon to dye loincloths to be used at weddings, to carry children, for bori possession cults or as shrouds. His clientele is ageing, as young people are no longer interested in this type of product. THH finally describes the relationship that existed between the weavers and the dyers and how each benefited from these interdependent activities.
