Association between age and the human intestinal microbiome. Gut metagenome and age

In this study the effect of demographic parameters on the intestinal microbiome was assessed. For this, stool samples from humans of different age were sequenced to quantify their specific intestinal microbial composition. Study subjects with an age under and over 65 years could be separeted through their intestinal microbiome using a random forest machine learning approach.
