The noble scallop Chlamys nobilis is a deliciously edible mollusk that displays conspicuous polymorphism in shell color and difference in adductor muscle, and has been commonly cultured in the southern coastal area in China since 1980s. In this study, we adopted joint PacBio Iso-Seq and RNA-seq analysis to uncover candidate genes for carotenoids accumulation in golden scallops.
