The present study is focused on the CDOM vertical profiles in the northern South China Sea. The results suggest humic-like FDOM is controlling the variation of the spectral slope of CDOM (S275-295). In addition, our results suggest S275-295 could be used as tracers of water mass, CDOM diversity and radiocarbon age of dissolved organic carbon in oligotrophic ocean.
