ICES/GLOBEC Backward Facing 4 Workshop Data
A dataset was collated for the benefit of participants in the above
workshop. The dataset contains a variety of information:
1) North Sea Catch data from the 1997 ACFM report
2) Annual recruitment, biomasses, fishing mortality etc for the
four gadoid species and others.
3) Age structure data on weight, numbers etc for the four
gadoid species and others
Data from 1906-1997 is available for cod, haddock, whiting and saithe
(1967-1997). Graphs of changes in growth rate for the four gadoid
species in the North Sea and the West of Scotland are available.
The dataset also includes North Atlantic Oscillation data and other
climate information including wind data. A large dataset of surface
temperature, bottom temperature, salinity, chlorophyll, nutrients and
oxygen has been provided. The dataset consists of 1 x 1 degree
squares for every month since 1950. The area covered is 40-70N,
20W-15E
