The intestinal microbiota is associated to several mechanisms linked to health and disease processes and its modulation can be achieved with the ingestion of functional compounds. The goal was to compare the capacity of microbiota modulation (metabolites production and microbiota diversity) of two different synbiotic matrices, an ice cream and a dietary supplement through digestion on a dynamic colonic model.
