Beyond Physical Space: A Qualitative Study on the Psychological Experience of the English Learning Environment among Chinese University Students

This study introduces environmental psychology into second language acquisition research, proposing an integrative "Permeation–Internalization–Projection" framework based on in-depth interviews with 28 Chinese university students. The findings reveal how learners emotionally color physical spaces, internalize social relationships as persistent inner voices, and agentively project meaning onto their learning environments.
