Audio to MIDI Test Kit

Audio to MIDI Test Kit is a small reproducibility dataset containing synthetic audio fixtures, observed MIDI outputs, and a manual review checklist for browser-based audio-to-MIDI conversion. The package includes an original six-second synthetic melody, copies encoded as MP3, PCM WAV, AAC-in-M4A, FLAC, Vorbis-in-OGG, and ADTS AAC, and the MIDI files downloaded during the test run. CSV and JSON files document processing times, decoded durations, detected note counts, note events, encoding settings, and file hashes. A Node.js generator and verification script are also included. The observations were collected using Note From Audio (https://notefromaudio.com/) in Microsoft Edge on Windows. Users can load the supplied fixtures into an audio-to-MIDI converter, save the resulting MIDI files, and inspect the notes in a piano-roll editor. The README and REVIEW-CHECKLIST.md describe reproduction and manual review steps. This is not an accuracy benchmark or a comparison of competing products. Only one sample per encoding was tested in the recorded environment. Successful conversion and MIDI download do not establish transcription accuracy or universal format support. The recorded outputs contain extra and fragmented notes and require manual review. The audio fixtures are synthetic and contain no personal recordings. The package does not include the deployed converter, model code, or Spotify Basic Pitch.
