Storm Water Miscellaneous

This data shows the locations of storm water junction boxes, drop inlets, gate valves and dry wells per approved or recorded plans. Also, lists who is responsible for maintaining that structure, either the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, Caltrans or private. Structures: Junction Box: structures that interconnect pipes of different sizes or for a change-in direction Drop Inlet: an in-ground structure that collects storm water into the storm drain system Gate Valve: are used to turn on or shut off the flow of storm water Dry Well: a dried-up well that is used for draining storm water Cleanout: a vertical pipe with a removable cap that is used for maintenance
