There are datasets of tree census and soil conditions from three adjacent 1-ha plots in deciduous, semi-evergreen, and evergreen forests in seasonally dry tropical forests (SDTFs). Using these datasets, we evaluated edaphic effects on forest structure and tree species composition in Cambodiaâs unique lowland forest landscape, where different forest types coexist under similar climatic conditions. Soil nutrients and water content were measured at 0â200-cm depth in both the rainy and dry seasons, alongside soil texture.

This is the dataset of tree census and soils obtained in deciduous, semi-evergreen, and evergreen forests in Khun Ream, Siem Reap, Cambodia, in 2021.
In each forest type, 1-ha plot (100m à 100m) was established, and trees with more than 5-cm in DBH were numbered and measured.
Soils were sampled in each plot during both the rainy (October 2022) and dry (February 2023) seasons. Samples were collected every 20 cm from 0 to 200 cm, including a 10-cm depth (11 samples per point), at 8 points per plot.
## Description of the data and file structure

Tree census dataset in each forest type includes the following data.
* Subplot (10m à 10m): each plot is divided into 100 subplots.
* Block: each plot has 8 blocks and the area of each block is 800 m^2^. Some subplots are not included in any blocks.
* TreeID: TreeID of each stem
