Monitoring of non-indigenous species in Sweden 2025

This project reports genetic data from the non-indigenous species (NIS) monitoring program in Sweden, as commissioned by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (HAV) and the County administrative board of Västra Götaland (LST VG). The data were collected and submitted by Seanalytics (http://seanalytics.se) in collaboration with University of Gothenburg (UGOT). Sampling locations were situated in ports and marinas along the Swedish coast, the Swedish Southern coast, and the Swedish East coast of the Baltic proper. Sampling also includes two reference sites, which are not marinas or ports. Sampling locations from west to east: Salto reference site (SAL), Kristineberg reference site (KRB), Stenungssund (STE), Göteborg-Krossholmen (KRO), Varberg (VAR), Halmstad (HAL), Karlskrona (KAR), Kalmar (KAL), Oskarshamn (OSK), Visby (VIS), Slite (SLI), Oxelosund (OXE). Three types of samples were collected (WA, water samples; PL, plankton samples, and mARMS, hard bottom samples) during two seasons - late spring (S) and late summer (A).
