资源简介:
The Salmon Project is in the process of acquiring new High Frequency
(HF) Radar instrumentation which will provide unprecedented coverage
of sea surface currents in Alaskan waters. These instruments are
currently being manufactured by CODAR Ocean Sensors in Los Altos,
California and will be phased into operation through the spring and
summer of 2003. The systems have ultimately been slated for operation
at remote sites in Prince William Sound and the Northern Gulf of
Alaska. Due to the technical complexities and extreme costs associated
with maintaining and monitoring these systems at remote locations,
prototype power and telemetry systems will be deployed near the road
system on the eastern edge of Cook Inlet, see figure 1. The funding
for these systems is being provided by grants awarded by The National
Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) and The National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
