Nitrogen fixation in different biogeochemical niches along a 120,000-year chronosequence in New Zealand

This data set includes biological nitrogen (N) fixation (BNF) data and bulk deposition data from nine sites along the Franz Josef soil chronosequence in Franz Josef, South Westland, New Zealand. For BNF, there are acetylene reduction activity (ARA) and density data for the symbiotic shrub/tree Coriaria arborea, cyanolichens, bryophytes, and leaf litter, as well as conversion factor (15N2:ARA) data for Coriaria, cyanolichens, and bryophytes. Bulk deposition data include nitrate, ammonium, and total dissolved N concentrations at three collectors near three of the chronosequence sites.
