The complete dataset and codes were developed for generating images and data analyses in the paper. The description of each file is provided here:1. All_IBWT_Projects.xlsx : The file contains the key information of all 140 IBWT projects in China. 2. 004_Supplementary_Material.docx : The file contains the supplementary data, images, and text quoted in the manuscript. 3. GIS_WT.rar : All the GIS files showing spatial trends of various variables (WA, WU, WSI) in China at the sub-basin scale. 4. Water resources and uses data_03-16.xlsx : The water resources availability and water use in the historic \baseline period which has served as the reference point for analyses presented in the manuscript. 5. Water_Availability_National_Scale.rar : The water availability data and codes for spatial/temporal analyses presented in the paper. 6. Water_Use_National_Scale.rar : The water use data and codes for spatial/temporal analyses presented in the paper. 7. WSI_Subbasin_Scale_IBWT.rar : The data and codes developed for spatial/temporal analyses of WSI in under the ten SSP-RCP scenarios. 8. 4_Before&AfterIBWT_InequalityCoefficient.rar : The inequality coefficient before and after IBWT. All data and codes are available in this .rar file. 9. MATLAB_Codes.rar : Additional codes supporting the presented data analyses are provided here.
