Original LOM Images of Ferrite-Pearlite Steel Microstructures

This dataset contains the 34 original Light Optical Microscopy (LOM) images used in the paper “A Deep Learning Approach to Semantic Segmentation of Steel Microstructures” published in Applied Sciences, 2024, 14, 2297. The images correspond to C45E / F114 steel microstructures containing ferrite and pearlite. They were used as the original image dataset for the semantic segmentation study described in the paper. Please note that this dataset includes only the original LOM images. Segmentation masks, manually corrected annotations, trained models, source code, and the augmented 224 × 224 image dataset are not included. The dataset is provided for academic and non-commercial research purposes. Users may generate their own annotations and augmented datasets following the methodology described in the paper.
