Images from an Archaeological Evaluation at Newlands Road, Welford, Northamptonshire (Phase 2), March 2017

This collection consists of site images from an archaeological evaluation at Newlands Road, Welford, Northamptonshire. The works were conducted by University of Leicester Archaeological Service (ULAS) in March 2017 on behalf of Mears New Homes Ltd. The fieldwork was a post-determination requirement in advance of a proposed residential development. The trenches located at the north-east end of the site closest to the village (Trench 1 and 2) recorded a series of ditches and gullies that were mainly orientated parallel or perpendicular to West End. Smaller pit/posthole features and a larger cut feature was also recorded that may represent part of a pond or clay excavation pit.
