资源简介:
Supporting data for dataset of the MPhil research project: Reimagining Urban Communities in Hong Kong and Singapore: Street Murals as Contested Sites for the Production of Space and Urban Belonging in Global Cities. This research interrogates the functions of street murals in two Asian global cities, focusing on paintings on the walls of ArtLane in the Sai Ying Pun neighborhood of Hong Kong, and near the Tiong Bahru Community Center in the Tiong Bahru neighborhood of Singapore. Following the longstanding tradition of neighborhood studies, an integrated qualitative methodology is adopted to investigate how street murals perform their roles in the spatial transformation of neighborhoods and people’s sense of place, such as content analysis of public statements, visual analysis of landscape photography, and thematic analysis of ethnographic data. The date files include instructions for making inquiries related to any issues of consent, fabrication, falsification or other concerns related to this project.
