Factors Influencing Flood Risk Management Integration in U.S. Municipal Planning: A social science research project

This project has two missions, each pertaining to a different stage of a mental model research project. The first mission consists of the IRB documentation, interview instruments, and curated transcripts used to create an expert mental model. The expert mental model documents support the research used to achieve the following objectives for the project: identify factors influencing flood risk management integration, assess the interplay of influences, explore diverse planner perspectives, and expand the understanding of flood risk management decision-making. These documents and the results of this portion of the research project supported the development of the documents in the second mission. The second mission consists of amended IRB documentation, interview instruments, and curated transcripts used to apply and amend the expert mental model through a Providence, Rhode Island case study. This work is ongoing, and this mission will be published once it is completed.
